Las Terrazas Resort is located 3.5 miles north of San Pedro on Ambergris Caye, Belize. Getting there involves three steps: an international flight to Philip S.W. Goldson Airport (BZE) in Belize City, a scenic 20-minute commuter flight on Maya Island Air or Tropic Air over the Barrier Reef to San Pedro Airstrip, and a private 10-minute boat ride directly to the resort dock. The resort arranges all transfers for $199 USD per person roundtrip. Guests are greeted at the dock with a chilled towel and cold rum punch while luggage is taken to the room. Direct flights to Belize City are available from Houston (2 hours), Miami (2.5 hours), Dallas (3 hours), Atlanta (3 hours), New York JFK (4 hours), Chicago (4 hours), Denver (4 hours), Los Angeles (5 hours), and Toronto (4.5 hours). Daily year-round service operates from Houston, Miami, Dallas, and Atlanta. A valid passport is required but no visa is needed for US, UK, EU, and Canadian citizens for stays up to 30 days. Belize uses the Belize Dollar pegged 2:1 to USD, and US dollars are accepted everywhere. The climate is tropical with temperatures between 75 and 90 degrees Fahrenheit year round. The dry season runs November to May. The time zone is Central Standard Time, the same as Chicago, and Belize does not observe daylight saving.
